After 6 months of DNA Wales 'chaos' in which we helped over 20 companies, private and public sector. Visited 14 different countries. Completed over 200 lectures/seminars/talks for companies. Recorded radio programmes for the BBC Wales.... it finally started to breakdown....... my body that is, not DNA.

Yes its my 'back', lower back to be specific and yes, its agony! However, the back pain even though I'm typing this on the floor, where I've been for the last 2 weeks, is extremely unbearable for most of the time. All this pales in to insignificance compared to the pain suffered at the hands of the NHS..... not the staff I might add but the system.

I cannot move at the moment without the aid of my 10 year old acting as a 'zimmer' frame or drugs which seem to be consumed without thought to the effect on my body. Indeed I had to use all my power left in me not to lick the container after my first 'hit' - tub of painkillers runout. Yet today having been forced once again to the ‘hospital’ having my body prodded, poked and pulled in ways I couldn’t do even when fit, the pain of being told by the Doctor ‘its life, your getting old, live with it’ hurt the most. They were simply so dismissive, forgetting that there was a person in pain, having been so for 4 months looking for help. The system, KPI’s and processes simply doesn’t understand it’s the human at the end, beginning and middle of the ‘system. The system simply isn't set up for people who now more than ever see through the 'procedures' or 'rules' which are put up to justify judgements.

Anyhow, back to the zimmer, before she goes to bed….
