London School of Economics, 18th July 2008 at 10.00 - 5.00 Professor Eve Mitleton-Kelly presents the findings of recent LSE research looking at leadership (Friday 18 July 2008)
This workshop will report on the findings from a recent LSE project. Fifteen FTSE 100 CEOs, Chairmen and Senior Civil Servants took part in the study. What has emerged is not just identification of some key challenges but also some deep insights on how these challenges are being addressed.
The workshop on Friday 18 July, will offer a balance of internal and external perspectives. Professor Eve Mitleton-Kelly, Director of the Complexity Group at LSE, will present the findings on leadership using complexity theory. This is an innovative approach that has proved extremely successful in addressing a number of organisational and corporate challenges during the last decade. From an industry angle, Dr. Paul Stevens, recently retired VP of IT for GSK - UK Pharma will discuss how his side of the business has made significant improvements and been able to align itself with GSK's core business guided by complexity theory. Other speakers tbc.
Importantly, there will also be plenty of opportunity for participants to engage with and discuss the findings from their own experience.
The workshops will end with a short reception.
