DNA Wales was invited to introduce the concept of Complexity Theory to Disaster Management at the International conference held in Cardiff on July 10-11 2008
Jean Matthews explained how Complexity thinking can build resilience and alertness into a system by allowing a self –organisation and democratic leadership. Jean also raised the profile of the Cynefin framework explaining how it could be used to think differently about how to deal with complex problems, by tailoring ones approach to the circumstances that emerge in the field
